Fifth class are reading our new novel- The Silver Sword. We are on chapter 10. We drew some pictures from chapter 6. We did some lovely pasta pictures for art. We also made very colourful peacocks for art. last week we made leprechauns for St. Patrick's Day.  We made Mother's Day cards too.We have started reading buddies with 2nd class. We have been going to mass every Wednesday for Lent. we made our confessions last week.
We are doing very well with our knitting. We are entering a handwriting competition. We did experements on "light." We are doing Junior Achievement with Ms. Laura Porritt on Our World.We did drama yesterday someone was pretending to be Ivan from our novel and we had to ask him some questions.

Fifth Class's blog

In 5th class this November we are were learning our lines for our play and every one is having a great time acting them out. We went to the church for our confessions and we did some sketches of the church .We also sketched the stained glass windows. When we got back we drew the crosses  onto tracing papper and we coloured them.We stuck gold and silver paper on and stuck them on the window.We are also working on our long division it was hard at the start but now we all are very good at it.On Monday we are getting new student teachers.We went to the library to meet Judi Curtin.She told us about when she was a child.Did you know she wrote her first book when she was nine.She has loved books since she was young.It was very interesting.

Our Work So Far!!!

So far we have been doing a project on Vincent Van Gogh , a class tree , leaf rubbing hedgehog and entering a  Halloween  painting competition in the Sky Court shopping centre.In Vincent Van Goph we did our own version of The Starry Night with oil pastelles and paint. With our class for national tree day we made a hedghog and a class tree it was really fun and interesting.We also learned how to draw cars,animals and insects.We also did some poetry.That's all for now!Bye!!By Eoin Riordan.
